So I decided to jump into flash photography. I picked up a super cheap flash on Amazon and will be testing it's off camera flash capabilities. This is just my initial reaction I will post test shots and a further review in the near future.
The first thing I notice is the size and build quality, it feels strong and looks similar to it's canon and nikon counterparts. The flash uses 4 AA batteries and is quite easy to setup and begin using. Because there is no ttl feature on this flash you must always be shooting in manual. Since I am more or less always shooting in manual on my camera this is no issues for me as I enjoy learning the intricacies and details of my gear. I have a few options for firing the flash, I can use it on the hotshoe of my 7D, use it as a slave with the 7D on camera flash acting as the master or have it triggered remotely with a pocket wizard. I will be testing all these methods and posting my results. Until then keep shooting!
